Cruz Azul climbs to first in latest Concacaf Club Rankings

MIAMI – Cruz Azul is the new number one team in the latest Concacaf Club Rankings (CCR).
The Concacaf Club Rankings Index grades all clubs and leagues across the confederation. Teams gain points for results in official domestic league matches, regional cup matches, and Concacaf Champions Cup play.

Cruz Azul rises to number one spot after win over América in Champions Cup
Cruz Azul (1,257) is the new top-ranked team after a 2-1 win over former number one Club América (1,231) in the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Champions Cup.
La Máquina claims the top spot for the first time in 2025, while América drops four spots to the fifth-place spot.
Inter Miami CF, Tigres UANL complete top three ahead of Champions Cup Semifinals
Inter Miami CF (1,239) and Tigres UANL (1,238) rose to second and third overall, respectively, after their victories to advance to the CCC semifinals.
Inter Miami defeated LAFC (1,218) 3-2 on aggregate, dropping the latter to eight overall. Tigres UANL climbed three spots in the rankings after its 3-2 aggregate win over LA Galaxy (1,183).
Vancouver Whitecaps FC back in the Top 10 after securing a semifinals spot
Rounding out the rest of the clubs in the top ten, Columbus Crew (1,238) dropped to fourth place while CF Pachuca (1,225) and Deportivo Toluca (1,224) occupy the sixth and seventh spots.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1,211) shifted up to ninth place after its 3-3 draw on aggregate with Pumas UNAM (1,187) to advance to the CCC semifinals on away goals. Club León (1,206) dropped one spot into tenth overall.

With its stoppage-time series win against Pumas UNAM, Whitecaps FC became one of the biggest movers, climbing four spots in the rankings.
Also moving up four spots are #16 FC Cincinnati (1,190), #72 Sporting San Miguelito (1,075), #81 HFX Wanderers FC (1,064), and #82 CD Águila (1,063).
LA Galaxy fell seven spots to 21st overall, tied for the biggest drop with #84 Deportivo Achuapa (1,061). Pumas UNAM fell three spots to 18th following its CCC elimination. #126 Cavaly (1,008) and #133 11 Deportivo FC (999) each fell five places.
Cruz Azul achieved the Biggest Upset with a victory over América
A matchup between the top two teams in the rankings delivered the biggest upset in the Champions Cup quarterfinals as Cruz Azul won 2-1 on aggregate against Club América.
The two sides played to a scoreless draw in the first leg of the Clásico Joven. Ángel Sepúlveda scored a brace in the second leg to deliver the victory to eliminate the all-time winners, sending La Máquina to the semifinals.
