Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo has late this week backed his former club to continue to dominate on the continent moving forward.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Real are of course the reigning European champions, after getting the better of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League showcase earlier this year.

As much came as Los Blancos’ record-extending 15th time triumphing in the competition, more than twice as many victories as any other club.

One player to have played a leading role in no fewer than four of these titles was the aforementioned Cristiano Ronaldo, who enjoyed the most spectacular years of his storied career whilst lining out in Madrid.

Speaking to the media during an appearance at the Globe Soccer Awards on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Real’s chances at going all the way in this season’s edition of the Champions League was put to the Portuguese himself.

And Ronaldo was not shy in backing his ex-employers, assuring:

“If you want to bet on a team in the Champions League, bet on Real Madrid.”
