Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message of advice the way of current Blancos star Kylian Mbappé, over his role in Carlo Ancelotti’s XI.
Frontman Mbappé for his part of course endured a difficult start to life in Spain, following his summer arrival from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
Pushed into a more central position to his favoured one on the left wing, the 26-year-old was widely criticised for a string of underwhelming performances.
Recent weeks, however, have seen Mbappé begin to find his feet.
Looking increasingly at home in Real Madrid’s setup, the France international, prior to a weekend blank against Espanyol, had rattled off five goals in his prior two league appearances.
Speaking during an as of yet unreleased interview with El Chiringuito TV this week, the subject of Mbappé’s adaptation period at the Santiago Bernabéu was therefore put to the aforementioned Cristiano Ronaldo.
And Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer made use of the opportunity to send some advice the way of Los Blancos’ new star man:
“If I were Mbappé, I would play in a way very similar to the way Cristiano Ronaldo played as a striker.”
