Sergio Coneicao’s start to life at AC Milan has not been made easier by the amount of players currently out injured, but the situation could soon improve.
Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress) writes this morning about a ‘race against time for Riyadh. Several Milan players are out due to injury, but four of them are on their way back soon and could make the trip to Saudi Arabia.
Among them is Rafael Leao, struggling with the flexor strain that took him off after half an hour at the Stadio Bentegodi against Hellas Verona a week and a half ago. The Portuguese is very keen to be on the pitch against Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana on January 3.
Christian Pulisic is in the same boat, and is recovering from an ankle problem that kept him out against Roma after getting over a previous muscle issue. There is also a chance that Yunus Musah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek recover in time for Friday’s game, too.
Having some attacking options back would certainly be a help for Conceicao in his Milan debut, especially given that Samuel Chukwueze came off against Roma, while Noah Okafor is absent at the moment too depleting the depth on the wings.
