Claudio Ranieri has named a relatively strong Roma side for Wednesday evening’s Coppa Italia Round of 16 tie against Sampdoria, who have already beaten two Serie A sides in the competition in 2024-25.
Kick-off is due at 20.00 GMT.

A reminder: If this game ends level after 90 minutes, we will head straight to a penalty shoot-out. There will be no extra-time.
First team regulars Mario Hermoso and Evan Ndicka start at centre-back for the Giallorossi joined by full-back Zeki Celik in the back three. There is also a start for back-up goalkeeper Maty Ryan.
Leandro Paredes is given the nod in the centre of the park, joined by Italy youngster Nicolo Pisili. They will play behind Nicola Zalewski and Tommaso Baldanzi, who support Artem Dovbyk up front.

Sampdoria, who have already beaten both Como and rivals Genoa in the Coppa Italia this season, have made nine changes to the team that drew 0-0 with Spezia in Serie B over the weekend.
Roma (3-4-2-1): Ryan; Celik, Ndicka, Hermoso; Saelemaekers, Paredes, Pisili, Angelino; Zalewski, Baldanzi; Dovbyk.
Sampdoria (4-3-3): Vismara; Venuti, Meulensteen, Vulikic, Veroli; Akinsanmiro, Yeper, Vieira; Borini, Leonardi, Pedrola.
