Inter and Napoli shared the spoils on Sunday night as Hakan Calhanoglu hit the post on a penalty kick following a questionable call, and Antonio Conte didn’t let it slide in his post-game remarks to DAZN and Sky (via Mediaset).
“If there’s an error, what does it mean that the VAR can’t intervene? Does it only with it suits them? It was a decision that could have changed the game. The instrument is either there to correct mistakes or not. It has to work. This infuriates me. It must be activated in these circumstances or when the official doesn’t see something.”
Conte doesn’t back introducing a coaching challenge.
“The VAR just needs to be utilized when there’s an error. Its responsible must warn the referee, not the gaffers. It’s a great and important instrument if used correctly. It was a glaring mistake that could have affected the match. It had started well, but episodes like today’s one make you go back to the suspicions of the past.”
Conte was content with his team’s showing in San Siro.
Ver detalles de la publicación“I had said that we wouldn’t come here to be sparring partners against the best team in Serie A. We faced them with strength and personality. I’m satisfied, as it wasn’t easy. We’re working hard and getting better; otherwise, we would have lost tonight and versus Juventus away. There are certain values in play. The lads are proving to be on point, then we could have done better qualitatively. I’m convinced that what we’re accumulating will help us do improve going forward.”
