Randal Kolo Muani and Francisco Conceição each scored two goals as Juventus eased past Al Ain 5-0 in the Club World Cup.
The Bianconeri were lively right from the off and took the lead just 11 minutes in, thanks to a slick move that ended with Kolo Muani nodding in Alberto Costa’s pinpoint cross past Rui Patrício.
Al Ain had their moments and looked eager to get forward, but they struggled to seriously test Michele Di Gregorio. Their problems worsened when Conceição weaved his way across the six-yard box and fired a shot that took a deflection off Ramy Rabia and found the net.
Not long after Khéphren Thuram laid the ball off to Kenan Yildiz, who carved out a bit of space and let fly from distance with a brilliant strike that clipped the post on its way in, just over half an hour played.
Kolo Muani grabbed his second in first-half stoppage time, latching onto a perfectly weighted ball from Thuram and finishing coolly after breaking in behind the defence.
The Italian side continued to impress after the break, and in the 58th minute Conceição danced past Kouame Kouadio and slotted home for their fifth of the night.
Al Ain, representing the United Arab Emirates, will have a much sterner test ahead as they take on reigning Club World Cup holders and Group G favourites Manchester City in Atlanta on Sunday. As for Juventus, they top the group on goal difference and now head to Philadelphia, where they’ll look to book their place in the next round against Wydad.
