Columbus Crew interested in Brest’s Mama Baldé | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, the Columbus Crew are considering a deal to bring Stade Brestois winger Mama Baldé (29) to the MLS.

The Guinea-Bissau international has attracted the interest of the team coached by Frenchman Wilfried Nancy, and if the American club’s conversations with their French counterparts are successful, a four-year contract is on offer.

However, negotiations between the Ligue 1 side and the sixth-placed team in the Eastern conference have only just begun. The French outlet writes that Brest have not opened the door to a departure for a player who only arrived at the club during the summer following a €4.5 million move from Olympique Lyonnais.

This season, Baldé, who can play as either a winger or a wing-back, was able to experience Champions League football for the first time in his career. However, a return to a European competition looks to be a slim (but not impossible) prospect with Les Pirates 9th in the table with eight games remaining.
