Jonathan David’s agent Nikos Mavromaras has made it known that he visited San Siro, amid the links with AC Milan and Inter in the media.
As Calciomercato.com report, a post from the Instagram profile the FIFA agent showed a photo of him in Italy and more specifically at the home of the two Milanese clubs, which has understandably caused a bit of a stir.
At the moment it seems that Inter’s interest in the Canadian is concrete and Tuesday might have been a good chance for them to pitch their project. However, what continues to filter from the Nerazzurri management is that the operation is ‘complex’ due to the costs involved.
Even though there would be no transfer fee given his deal with Lille is expiring, it is expected that he will demand a salary of €6-7m net per season from his next club, to which high commissions and a signing-on fee would obviously be added.
It is estimated that the annual cost of David could be between €11-13m, which is far from extortionate considering other transfer operations usually include an amortised fee on top of the gross salary. There are many interested clubs, the competition is broad and the player will soon have to choose.
It is possible that Milan launch their candidacy too, having been linked with the Canada international extensively over the past couple of years. Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham are struggling to score consistently, while the Englishman and Luka Jovic are not currently contracted beyond 2025.
