Real Madrid are preparing to launch a new era under Xabi Alonso, and Theo Hernandez is among the potential welcome gifts he could get.
As Calciomercato.com report, Carlo Ancelotti’s era is ending in the worst possible way, just one year after the triumph in the Champions League at Wembley, with Real Madrid on their way to closing the season without any major titles.
He will leave his position as head coach and Florentino Perez’s choice to replace him is Xabi Alonso. The Spaniard will depart Bayer Leverkusen, and from the Club World Cup that starts in June will have the task of bringing a breath of fresh air.
The season that is about to end has shown that there are many gaps in the current Real Madrid squad, due to players in a downward spiral, injuries and several who have performed far from their expectations.
According to Chiringuito TV, the club’s will is to arrive at the Club World Cup in the United States with three new additions to the squad. One will be the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool, with negotiations on to bring forward his signing on a pre-contract.

A centre-back and a left-back are the other priorities. For the former, Dean Hujsen of Bournemouth is someone they like but several Premier League teams and Bayern Munich are keen, so he would cost €50-60m.
Diario AS recently spoke of renewed interest in Theo Hernandez for the left-back role. He has been in a strange situation for several months, of stalemate regarding the negotiation for a contract renewal more specifically, with his deal expiring next June.
The Frenchman has always expressed his intention to stay at Milan but while there is no contract news, the temptation of returning to Real Madrid intrigues him. Los Blancos are considering the possibility of making an offer that does not involve a large outlay.
