CM: A duel of fates – Conceicao and Italiano prepare for ‘first’ of their career | OneFootball

AC Milan and Bologna will face for the third time this season tonight at the Stadio Olimpico, but for the coaches of both teams, it is a first.

There is a lot riding on tonight’s game. For Bologna, it is a chance to win a title of significant importance for the first time in more than 50 years. Whilst for Milan, it is a chance to save face after a dismal season.

Neither manager comes into this game blind, after all, both are aware of the other’s team. However, Calciomercato.com writes that it is a game of ‘firsts’ with this evening’s result likely to change the season for their club.

Conceicao is seen as a ‘specialist’ in these settings, winning five trophies in Portugal with Porto, whilst Italiano’s record leaves a lot to be desired going 0-3.

There is a bigger focus for both though it seems, with both coaches’ futures being speculated over heavily in recent months. For the Portuguese, the future seems to be away from him, though there is a glimmer of hope emerging, it seems.

Whilst for Italiano, there are several rumours about his own future and a move this summer – with the Rossoneri even said to be interested in his services.

Tonight, several things will be decided; another European team, the result of a season, and the winner of the Coppa Italia. However, it may also trigger a few other decisions to start being formed.
