Claudio Ranieri previews Roma-Fiorentina | OneFootball

Roma manager Claudio Ranieri addressed the media two days prior to Roma’s match with Fiorentina at Stadio Olimpico.

The veteran technician attended today’s pre-match press conference at Trigoria.

“The team is doing well, everyone’s recovered for tomorrow,” said Ranieri.

“The midfield? Koné is a universal player, he can play multiple roles. He can be a box-to-box as well as a player in front of the defense. I use him based on the type of game we’re to play.”

“Champions League qualification? It depends on the freshness of the team and who takes advantage of the episodes that can happen first. As I always say, I don’t like to bet. Once the season is over we’ll see what we’ve done, without regrets.”

“We must continue with focus and determination,” he added. “Fiorentina is a difficult opponent. They’ve lost only one game in the last ten.”

“Dovbyk? I still believe in him, he has made significant progress and he is not a bad signing at all, he is the top scorer in La Liga and has brought us many important points. He must improve because he has the means to do so.”

“I don’t like to make considerations regarding the market now. What will happen after the end of the season is a separate matter. This applies to all players.”

“My future? Nothing could make me change my mind. I love Roma, but staying another year would be a mistake for Roma.”

“Paredes?  I chose other players in recent weeks, I choose those that I think are more suitable to win the match. They’re all fine and they all put me in difficulty and when I say that I choose at the last minute it’s true.”

“Dovbyk and Shomurodov can play together tomorrow. They help each other a lot,” he added.

“Shomurodov has already shown that he is fundamental. He gives you everything at 100 miles an hour, then it’s up to me to understand. I love him for this, because he is a golden boy, he doesn’t hold back, he goes to press everyone. He gives his all.”
