Manchester United are expected to sell plenty of stars in the summer while a few will leave upon the expiration of their contracts, like Christian Eriksen.

The Dane scored on his final United appearance in the 2-0 win against Aston Villa from the spot and now has uploaded a message for the fans on his Instagram account.

He thanked them for their loyal support while also showing his gratitude to the people at the club for making him feel at home, including his teammates.

“A huge thank you to all the fans who has supported me through the last 3 years as a Man Utd player.

Christian Eriksen note to fans

“Thank you too all the kind and hardworking people at the club who has made me and my family feel so welcomed since day one. And a big thank you to my teammates, it’s been a pleasure sharing the changing room and pitch together!

“It’s been an amazing time and I’ve made some incredible memories that I will keep forever. Thank you, Christian.”

The midfield maestro ended up making 107 appearances for the Red Devils during his three-years at the club, scoring eight goals and registering 18 assists.

He also won the Carabao Cup in his debut season and the FA Cup last term. He had to be content with a runners-up medal after the team lost in the Europa League final in what was a disastrous season.

United will wish they could have signed him sooner

The Denmark international showed his class with his passing abilities, especially in his debut season, and formed a deadly partnership with Casemiro.

He showed his goalscoring touch this campaign, but his age seemed to have finally caught up with him as he struggled in the Premier League.

Fans can only wish the club could have signed the former Tottenham Hotspur man sooner in his career.

Christian Eriksen has been linked with a move back to Ajax while Mallorca have emerged as surprise suitors. It will be interesting to see where he ultimately moves to.
