Christ Wawa signs in Sweden
Coveted by several European clubs, Christ Wawa has ultimately chosen BK Häcken. The Ivorian winger, arriving from Racing Club d’Abidjan, has signed a five-year contract with the Swedish side.
At just 18 years old, Christ Wawa has already made his mark with the Ivory Coast U20 national team. Fast, incisive, and boasting a powerful shot, he describes himself as an "explosive, determined, and courageous" player.
My speed, dribbling, and shooting are my main weapons on the pitch. I’ll use them to help the team (...). It’s an immense joy to be here. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time and it’s the perfect start to my adventure outside Africa. I’m here to deliver.
On the management side, there’s satisfaction as well. Martin Ericsson, BK Häcken’s sporting director, is clear:
Christ is a technically gifted attacking player whom we have been following for quite some time. He was highly sought after, and we’re delighted that he chose BK Häcken. We’re eager to watch his development.
With this promising signing, BK Häcken aims to energize their attack and add another weapon for the remainder of the Allsvenskan season.
