Blues looking to make strong star to continental campaign
Chelsea start the Conference League proper at home to Gent this week.
The Blues will undoubtedly be among the favourites for the competition, albeit it remains to be seen just how seriously head coach Enzo Maresca takes it.
Still, they only just scraped by Servette in the play-off rounds and, such is the difference in resource between Chelsea and the rest of teams in the tournament, have the pressure of being heavy favourites for every game they’ll play.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game.
Chelsea vs Gent is scheduled for a 7.45pm BST kick-off time on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Stamford Bridge in London will host.
TV channel: The game will be broadcast on TNT Sports 2 and TNT Sports Ultimate.
Live stream: Subscribers will be able to watch on a live stream via the Discovery+ app.

Cole Palmer, Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia have all been left out of Chelsea’s squad for the Conference League in a bid to manage their workloads, so will not be available here.
Malo Gusto returned from injury against Brighton, and may be handed another start with Reece James still sidelined. Christopher Nkunku appears to be the starting striker away from the Premier League, who will start and could be supported by Pedro Neto and Joao Felix.
The likes of Ramon Veiga, Beniot Badiashile, Kieran Dewsbury-Hall and Mykhailo Mudryk should all get the nod.
Such is the strength of Maresca’s squad, anything less than a routine home win would be considered a real upset.
Chelsea to win, 2-0.
The two teams have never played.
Chelsea to win: 1/5
Draw: 4/1
Gent to win: 8/1
