Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich, according to journalist Christian Falk.
The Bundesliga champions are pushing hard to sign the Senegalese striker before the transfer window closes.
Jackson has been made surplus to requirements this summer after falling down the pecking order.
Since joining from Villarreal in 2023, Jackson has tallied 30 goals and 12 assists in 81 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea.
However, the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have pushed Jackson down to third-choice striker.
Manager Enzo Maresca hasn’t ruled out the prospect of welcoming him back into the fold if a summer exit fails to materialise.
Delap has yet to open his goalscoring account in the Premier League, but Pedro scored in the 5-1 thrashing of West Ham United at the London Stadium last Friday.
Jackson was left out of the squad for both games.
Maresca has opened the door for Jackson to leave, and Chelsea are keen to ship him out before next week’s deadline.
Several clubs are monitoring Jackson’s situation. Aston Villa and Newcastle United have expressed strong interest, but Bayern appear to have taken the lead in the race.
Bayern sporting chief executive officer Max Eberl recently dismissed speculation linking the club with a move for Jackson.
It appears they’ve had a change of heart after agreeing personal terms and negotiating with Chelsea over a potential deal.
The stumbling block is Chelsea’s valuation. The Blues want around £80 million for Jackson, and they’d prefer a permanent deal or a loan with an obligation to buy.
However, Bayern are only willing to sign Jackson on a season-long loan deal.
Offloading Jackson would help Chelsea move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, who has made it clear he wants to join them.
