Chelsea are reportedly still in for Everton centre back Jarrad Branthwaite according to two new updates today but they face competition.

Blues boss Enzo Maresca has already given his thoughts about new signings Liam Delap, Dario Essugo, and Mamadou Sarr who all join his squad out in America for the Club World Cup this summer.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea add two NEW strikers to their shortlist as well as Hugo Ekitike!

And it looks like Chelsea are still trying to add another new defender to the ranks as well, with an apparent offer being rejected for a Serie A star this week and other such links that have come up in recent weeks.

There will be plenty more incomings and outgoings at Chelsea during the long summer transfer window that will reopen tomorrow morning on the day Chelsea play their first Club World Cup game of the tournament that kicked off in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Jarrad Branthwaite in action for Everton.

So I put out a huge Jarrad Branthwaite to Chelsea update article out on my Substack site earlier today covering the full story.

I can confirm from sources that Chelsea are absolutely still looking to make a move for Branthwaite this summer, and I’m not the only one linking him with The Blues.

The Mail on Branthwaite

The Daily Mail report that Tottenham are weighing up an approach for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

They also state that Chelsea have been pondering over a swoop and Spurs were expected to test the waters, but David Moyes wants the in-demand England international to stay.

Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United have all been named as interested clubs as well, meaning that Chelsea could end up having some competition if they really want to bring him in.
