This week, a report from Defensa Central emerged that Liverpool are ready to activate Mastantuono’s £37.3 million release clause at River Plate to outpace Real Madrid for his signature.

According to Noticias River Plate, Chelsea are closely monitoring River Plate’s attacking midfielder Franco Mastantuono and are prepared to make a strong push to secure his signature.

Moreover, the report notes that Liverpool and PSG are also reportedly interested in the talented player.

Last month, Mundo Deportivo revealed that a Barcelona scout attended the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires to watch Mastantuono during the Copa Libertadores. The match in question was River Plate’s semifinal second leg against Atletico Mineiro on October 29.

In the 2024 season, Mastantuono has featured in 41 matches across all competitions for River Plate, contributing four goals and three assists.
