Chelsea’s summer plans are slowly coming into focus.
We know the Blues want to sign a striker, we know they’d like to sign a left winger too, and all signs points to centre back being their third priority position.
They have a number of central defenders on the books, but after a couple of years cycling through them, none have managed to stand out as a definite top option. Renato Veiga and Axel Disasi have been loaned out and look likely to make permanent moves in the summer, while Wesley Fofana’s final chance to prove he could put his injury problems behind him have ended in failure.
Without doubt the Blues’ top target seems to be Dean Huijsen, and there have been very positive reports today from Ben Jacobs and other saying that we’ve already made contact with the Spain international’s camp and are in a good spot to make a deal happen.

But with so much competition for Huijsen jostling for position, it makes sense to have an alterative lined up, and so it’s no surprise to hear talk of our interest in Marc Guehi going up a gear too.
The Daily Mirror today report that we’re looking to send Trevoh Chalobah (who impressed on loan at Selhurst Park in the first half of this season before being recalled) back to Palace, along with £50m, to land former academy star Guehi.
The 24 year old will have just one year left on his contract come this summer, and all parties are ready for him to move on. Bringing him together with potential England partner Levi Colwill at Stamford Bridge could be a move that makes a lot of sense.
