Chelsea keen on West Ham ace Mohammed Kudus | OneFootball

Chelsea are showing keen interest in West Ham United’s versatile star Mohammed Kudus, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues have moved swiftly to close a deal for Liam Delap and are holding talks to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Their next target could be Kudus, who has an £85 million release clause in his deal.

The 24-year-old was poor last season, and the Hammers might cash in as they look to boost their coffers for a summer overhaul.

Kudus is arguably their most valuable asset. His 2024/25 drop-off has not stopped Chelsea from having him on their radar.

He bagged 18 goals and 10 assists in his debut campaign in England, catching the eye with some show-stopping performances.

The Ghanaian international registered five goals and four assists this term, but the talent is there.

He also started to find his groove toward the end of the season and would be an absolute steal for Chelsea.

Kudus can play in several positions and would be a versatile weapon in the ranks, especially if they lose Christopher Nkunku.

Kudus played some of his best football as a ball-carrying box-to-box player for Ajax. He has not reprised that role for West Ham, but Chelsea may be considering him in that capacity.

Chelsea do not have a ball-carrier in their engine room and tried to sign Nico O’Reilly in January, but Manchester City blocked the move.

Kudus would be a sensational addition if Chelsea could negotiate a significantly lower fee.

He also reportedly has interest from Atletico Madrid and the Saudi Pro League. West Ham might not be too keen on doing their London rivals any favours.
