Simons, who scored ten Bundesliga goals in 25 games last season, is said to be keen on a move to the Blues.

But it is added that Chelsea could wait to sell players first before making a move for Simons.

Various reports also claim Arsenal are keen on the 22-year-old, but any move would likely be dependent on player sales with the Gunners having already spent big on Noni Madueke while they are also hoping to complete a deal to sign striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Sky Sports say striker Hugo Ekitike is set for a medical at Liverpool ahead of a deal worth more than £79m.

It is reported that he will sign a six-year contact with the Reds, with the transfer fee also including add-one which are dependent on Liverpool and Ekitike’s future success.

The Frenchman netted 22 goals in all competitions last season and has also been the subject of interest from Newcastle.

Elsewhere, the Telegraph are also reporting that Spurs maintain an interest in signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

Tottenham had a bid turned down for Guehi in the winter transfer window last season, but Liverpool are also said to be keen on the England international.

Guehi only has a year left on his current deal with Palace.

Chelsea have placed a price tag of between £80m and £100m on striker Nicolas Jackson, Sky Sports report.

Manchester United are among those believed to be keen on the Senegal international. The Red Devils have also completed the signing of forward Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Sky Sports are also reporting that Barcelona will have a £26m option to buy Marcus Rashford after his loan spell from Man Utd, but that the Spanish giants are facing a challenge to register him to their squad at present because of financial issues.

And Sky Germany say Chelsea defender Renato Veiga has agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid, with the Spanish club trying to agree a deal with the Blues to sign the Portuguese youngster.
