Sam Beukema will be highly sought after in the summer, and Chelsea joined the long list of admirers, sending some emissaries to watch the recent tilt versus Milan. Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Inter had done the same in previous weeks, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
The Dutchman turned in another solid shift in the comeback win versus the Rossoneri, surely drawing positive. At the moment, the Scudetto holders are the most interested side. Instead, the Old Lady’s courtship hinges on whether Thiago Motta will stay at the helm this summer.
Beukema has provided 2 assists in 34 matches across all competitions in his third season in Italy. He has won 56 percent of his duels, blocked 14 shots and made 21 interceptions, ranking very high among Serie A defenders.
The Felsinei signed him for nearly €8M from AZ Alkmaar in 2023. He was a day-one starter with the present Bianconeri coach at the helm. He has amassed 68 caps since heading to the Peninsula, hitting the net twice.
He’s the epitome of the modern defender given his stellar ball-handling skills. He progressively removed lapses he had when he first joined, becoming very sturdy and reliable. He’d arguably be even better in a three-man defense.
Inter make a lot of sense as a destination since he’d allow them to get younger but without any drop in quality. On the other hand, Bologna have smartly sent all their previous stars on the way out to the Premier League, cashing in more handsomely than they would have done otherwise.
