Chelsea insider reveals player club want more than most in key position | OneFootball

Chelsea have identified Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen as the centre back they want the most this summer according to reports.

The Blues are seemingly set for another busy summer, and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.

Chelsea face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back, and right footed attacker to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Huijsen top centre back target

Whilst a striker is the main priority the Blues are also looking to bring a centre back in, and there’s expected to be a significant reshuffle in that department.

Axel Disasi, Trevoh Chalobah and Renato Veiga are candidates to leave, whilst the Blues have identified a number of targets they’d like to bring in.

The strongest links have been with Huijsen, who has a £50m release clause active this summer and the 20-year-old is attracting interest from a host of clubs.

Liverpool believe Chelsea are the front runners to land Huijsen, and Mail Sport have reported the Spain international is the centre back the Blues want more than most.

The report adds the Blues aren’t alone in the race, but as previously reported, they back up suggestions by saying Liverpool feel Chelsea are closer to landing the defender than them.

Huijsen has impressed for Bournemouth this season, with the Cherries still in with a shout of qualifying for some form of European football, and he’s made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.

Guehi and Hato alternative targets

If the Blues were to miss out on Huijsen they’ve identified alternative targets, with there said to be strong interest in Marc Guehi and Jorrel Hato.

Chelsea explored a move for Guehi in January, and they are thought to still be keen on the Crystal Palace captain who’ll have just one year left on his contract this summer.
