Chelsea have been labelled something very concerning when you see that it does not match up with their current success so far.

Of course, there is plenty of time to turn things around even still this season, and a win against Southampton earlier in the week will help with that.

The Blues won the game 4-0 in what was a much needed convincing performance, with goals coming from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella.

EXCLUSIVE! Whose jobs will be at risk at Chelsea if they do not get UCL football this season?

The Saints were a very poor opposition of course, but Chelsea really needed a big win and a big performance, and that is exactly what they did last night right in the nick of time as they look to keep challenging for that all important Champions League spot.

Neto was superb playing as the number 9 and as well as getting his goal, he has explained why he loves playing as a striker with a hilarious answer!

But despite this, in the three years under the new ownership so far, they are yet to achieve anything at all and have not been doing great, especially when you consider the amount of money spent on the squad.

As reported by ESPN today, Chelsea’s squad at the end of the 2024 financial year was the most expensive ever in terms of transfer fees per the annual European Club Finance and Investment Landscape report, commissioned by UEFA.

The publication analyses all of Europe’s top leagues through submissions and detailed reviews. Its findings paint a vivid picture of the scale at which Premier League clubs are shelling out fees and accruing revenue.

Chelsea have signed 41 players across six transfer windows.

The report found that their squad at the end of the club’s 2024 financial year was officially the most expensive ever assembled, with a combined transfer cost of €1.656bn. It comfortably surpassed the value of the Manchester United’s squad of 2023, which cost €1.422bn.

None of this has yet to translate to success.
