Chelsea will consider selling Noni Madueke this summer, it’s been claimed by TBR Football this morning.

Their writer Graeme Bailed claims that the Blues have become “increasingly frustrated” by former PSV wide man Madueke, and are now prepared to let him leave, with Tottenham top of the list of teams keen to sign him.

“It’s understood that Madueke is now one of a number of players who Chelsea will allow to move on in the summer,” Bailey writes in his exclusive piece. We’ve heard plenty about another mass exodus from the club in the summer, but people like Fabrizio Romano who have talked about that haven’t mentioned Madueke at all.

Newcastle and Aston Villa are mentioned as joining Spurs in holding interest in the 23 year old. With Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix effectively up for sale, it would mean another major refresh of our attacking options.

Madueke rumours sound far fetched

We know that Madueke was a player they considered selling last summer – Romano confirmed it way back in September. But it never felt that likely, and since then Madueke really has proved himself much more in a Blue shirt.

With 7 goals in 19 starts he’s been a regular scorer this season and Enzo Maresca seems to be a big fan of his. We could certainly have forseen a departure last summer under certain circumstances, but it feels a lot less likely now. His recent injury has exposed how lacking in goal threat our other options in those positions are, and selling him to Spurs just doesn’t ring true as an idea to us right now.

Of course other options are coming in, and we wouldn’t necessarily bet on him being here in 5 years – but this summer seems a little premature from everyone’s point of view.
