Chelsea FC: Mamadou Sarr joins RC Strasbourg on loan

Mamadou Sarr is heading back to RC Strasbourg on Friday, August 1, 2025, joining the Alsatian club on a season-long loan. The central defender temporarily leaves Chelsea to rejoin his former team. The move was officially announced by both clubs.

The French player had signed with the Blues last June on a contract running until 2033, just weeks after departing Strasbourg. Chelsea has opted to loan out the 19-year-old defender to Racing to help him continue his development and gain valuable playing time in Ligue 1.

Mamadou Sarr thus makes his return to RC Strasbourg. A FIFA Club World Cup champion in 2025 with Chelsea, the French U20 international will once again wear the Racing colors throughout the season, with no possibility of a permanent transfer at the end of the campaign.
