Chelsea will prioritise the signing of a new left-winger once the club’s deal for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap is completed.

Delap has completed the first part of his medical ahead of joining Chelsea in a £30m deal. The England u-21 international will compete with Nicolas Jackson for a place in the side next season. Once that deal is finalised, Chelsea will turn their attention to a right-footed left-winger.

The Blues are weighing up the addition of another wide player, amid the uncertainty over Mykhailo Mudryk’s future.

Mudryk is currently serving a provisional suspension after an adverse finding was found in a doping sample. Regardless of the outcome, the appeal process is set to continue into the new campaign.

Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Chelsea have three transfer targets under consideration.

Chelsea to target Garnacho, Williams or Gittens as new left-winger

The West Londoners could revisit their interest in Alejandro Garnacho, after enquiries were made in January. Garnacho has been told to find a new club this summer after being informed that he does not feature in Ruben Amorim’s plans.

Chelsea also retain interest in Athletic Club winger Nico Williams. The Spain international has a €58m (£48.9m) release clause in his contract. Real Madrid have been named as suitors of the 22-year-old late, amid doubts over Rodrygo’s future at the Bernabeu.

Jamie Gittens is the third player on Chelsea’s shortlist. The England u-21 international had a breakthrough campaign with Borussia Dortmund in 2024/25. Gittens ranked second in the Bundesliga for successful take-ons and scored 12 goals in all competitions. The 20-year-old previously spent time in the Chelsea academy prior to his move to Germany.
