Chelsea announce squad for the Club World Cup

Chelsea have confirmed that new signings Liam Delap, Mamadou Sarr, and Dário Essugo have all been included in their 28-man squad for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Among those not making the cut are Raheem Sterling, João Félix, and Axel Disasi, who have all been left out of Enzo Maresca’s selection.

Just one player returning from a loan spell in 2024/25 - Andrey Santos - features in the squad.

Delap, who joined from Ipswich Town earlier this month, is one of three fresh arrivals at Stamford Bridge. He’s joined by Essugo, signed from Sporting, and Sarr, who arrived from Strasbourg, as the latest additions to Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Chelsea have been drawn into Group D for the tournament, where they’ll face Los Angeles FC, Espérance de Tunis, and Flamengo. The Blues get their campaign underway on Monday with a clash against LAFC.
