Chelsea have announced that centre-back Benoît Badiashile has suffered a hamstring injury, which will see the defender sidelined for an ‘extended period’.
Some reports have suggested Badiashile could miss the start of the 2023/24 campaign, should he undergo surgery this week.
With Mauricio Pochettino set to be announced as the new Chelsea manager in the coming weeks, missing all of pre-season could be a big blow to the former Monaco defender’s start to life under a new boss.
Badiashile joins a long list of Blues missing playing time through injury, as interim boss Frank Lampard could be without up to nine players for Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Manchester United on Thursday.
