The Addicks announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this morning.
The 30-year-old moves to The Valley off the back of a two-year spell with Bristol City. The player has also turned out for Liverpool and West Ham United in the English game.
Thestrup made her name in the Danish A-Liga with BSF where she regularly found the back of the opposition net. A move to AS Roma followed before Thestrup joined Liverpool in summer 2020 where she spent one season. The forward then spent time at Dutch club PSV before featuring for both West Ham United and Bristol City.
On the international stage, Thestrup has been capped by Denmark on four occasions.
After joining Charlton Athletic, Thestrup said “It feels so good to be here. I’m really happy to be here and I’m excited to get going and hopefully achieve something special this season.
“I’m very excited to get working with Karen [Hills], the staff and the team. It seems like a really exciting group. I’ve been incredibly excited since having that initial conversation with Karen, I can’t wait to get to work and get the season under way.”
Thestrup could make her Charlton Athletic debut against Crystal Palace on the opening day of the new Barclays WSL2 season.
