Their opponents Real Madrid have won the Champions League a record 14 times and are now on the brink of winning their 36th La Liga title.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side progressed to the semi final in dramatic fashion after beating the Champions League holders Manchester City on penalties in the second leg, with the tie finishing 4-4 on aggregate . Their goalkeeper Andriy Lunin was the hero after saving two penalties in the shootout.

Lunin’s contribution this season is to be admired after originally being the 3rd choice goalkeeper at the start of the season.

Alphonso Davies is available for selection again after being suspended for the second leg against Arsenal.

Sacha Boey, Bouna Sarr and Tarek Buchmann all remain long term absentees.

Matthjis de Ligt and Konrad Laimer both suffered with ankle and knee injuries in the recent win over Frankfurt but Thomas Tuchel is hopeful that the duo will return for this fixture.

Leroy Sané and Serge Gnabry returned to training on Monday whilst Dayot Upamecano is doubtful after also missing the match against Frankfurt.

Kingsley Coman remains out with an adductor injury.

Real Madrid have far less concerns when it comes to their injuries as Jude Bellingham is set to return after being ill for the recent win against Real Sociedad.

Rodrygo was also ill recently but has returned alongside Ferland Mendy.

This leaves just David Alaba and Thibaut Courtois as the only players injured as they have suffered with long term knee issues.

Dani Carvajal is suspended after picking up a yellow card against Man City so Lucas Vasquez is likely to start at right back.
