Celtic will look to take another huge step towards defending the Scottish Premiership when the champions clash with Old Firm rivals Rangers at Ibrox.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are runaway leaders in the title race and will extend their advantage to 17 points with a win over their fierce rivals on Thursday.
Just over a fortnight ago, Celtic claimed the first silverware of the season with victory over Rangers, via a penalty shootout, in a thrilling League Cup final. The Bhoys also claimed the bragging rights in the first Old Firm of the campaign with a 3-0 win at Celtic Park.
Celtic have dominated this fixture of late having lost just one of the last 17 Old Firm games. Rodgers’ side are unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership and have conceded just four goals in 18 games. Kasper Schmeichel has now not conceded in league action since November 23.
Celtic are close to full strength with Odin Thiago Holm and James Forrest the only confirmed absentees for the champions. Full-back Alistair Johnston will be assessed but is expected to be passed fit. The Canada international picked up a knock in the 4-0 win over St Johnstone on Sunday.
Celtic predicted XI: Schmeichel; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor; Paulo Bernardo, McGregor, Hatate; Kuhn, Kyogo, Maeda.
Rangers host Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on Thursday 2nd January 2024. Kick-off at Ibrox is 15:00 GMT.
Viewers in the United Kingdom can watch the match live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football, with coverage starting at 14:00 GMT.
