Celtic are preparing for life without Nicolas Kuhn and have identified Rapid Vienna winger Isak Jansson as his potential replacement, according to the Scottish Sun.
Kuhn is expected to leave the Parkhead club for Serie A club Como in the coming days, and Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers needs a capable attacker to take his place in the Celtic starting XI after he bagged 21 goals and 15 assists last term.
The ‘outstanding’ Jansson, who has also been dubbed a ‘whirlwind of a player’ has caught their eyes after impressing in the Austrian Bundesliga, and he could be the perfect replacement for the outgoing German again.
The £3 million-rated 23-year-old Sweden youth international joined Rapid after Kuhn left them for Celtic last summer, and he ended the season with nine goals and six assists in 33 games. The Hoops target is also on the radar of the likes of Lazio, Fiorentina and Paris FC, and it could take plenty of convincing and a juicy bid to pip competition to his services. The right-footed Jansson plays on both wings, and his pace and dribbling stats have been eye-catching.
Celtic could do with his services with Kuhn on his way out and Jota set to spend the next seven months on the sidelines, and while Rapid signed him for just around £200,000 last summer, it could take almost £3m for suitors to convince them into parting ways with him in the coming weeks.
Jansson will fancy his chances of impressing in the Scottish Premiership, but getting him to join them ahead of others could be tricky for the Bhoys given the calibre of teams they are battling for his services.
Celtic also have the likes of Antwerp forward Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Sarpsborg winger Sondre Orjasaeter on their radar as they look to bolster their attacking ranks ahead of 2025-26, and Rodgers will hope he has a team capable of impressing in Europe at the end of the summer transfer window.
