Celtic have been handed a potentially huge boost to our chances of qualifying from the UEFA Champions League Group Stage. Manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Cameron Carter-Vickers would return to the squad following a hamstring injury at the beginning of October.

Speaking at today’s media conference, Rodgers confirmed that the fundamental first team figure would make his return at the beginning of next month.

“Cameron Carter-Vickers is doing very well, hopefully on schedule to be back near the beginning of October. Maik Nawrocki is a little bit longer.”

Carter-Vickers has been immense since signing from Tottenham, initially on-loan, in 2021. Not only is he a defensive unit but he is comfortable with the ball at his feet and can help facilitate the manager’s style of play.

With the UCL games coming up, it’ll be a huge boost to have one of the best defenders at the club back and ready to compete. Nat Phillips, Gustaf Lagerbielke and Liam Scales will be vying for the two central defender positions against Feyenoord and then Lazio; thereafter, we can expect the USA Internationalist to reclaim his place in the team.
