The draw for round three of the Carabao Cup will take place on Wednesday evening, live on Sky Sports.

Brentford progressed to this stage following a 2-0 win against Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium on Tuesday evening, courtesy of goals from Fábio Carvalho and Igor Thiago.

The Bees will learn of their round three opponents following the conclusion of Wednesday’s televised fixture between Grimsby Town and Manchester United.

Round three ties will take place across the weeks commencing 15 and 22 September to accommodate for the Premier League sides who are competing in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

The 32 teams in round three will be split into two separate bowls: bowl one for the eight clubs competing in the Champions League and Europa League, and bowl two for the 23 victorious teams in round two, alongside Crystal Palace, who will compete in the UEFA Conference League this season.

A pre-draw will take place prior to the Grimsby v Manchester United match, determining whether the eight teams in bowl one will be playing home or away.

The first eight teams that are drawn in the main draw later that evening will face the corresponding side from the pre-draw.

Once the first eight ties featuring the UCL/UEL teams have been decided, the remaining eight ties will be made up of sides from bowl 2.

Unlike rounds one and two, the draw will not be regionalised into northern and southern sections.
