Capello rules out Roma return: “I’m retired.” | OneFootball

Fabio Capello did not entertain the idea of returning to Rome as the Giallorossi’s next head coach.

During the WEmbrace Awards 2025 ceremony, an event dedicated to inclusion and social transformation held in Milan, Fabio Capello joked about his possible candidacy for the Roma bench.

The former Giallorossi coach responded with irony to a joke by Bebe Vio: “Did you just nominate me as Roma coach? Given my age, I won’t do it again, also so as not to hear ‘ah, that guy is a bit old and slow.’ I’m retired.”

Capello then expressed his thoughts on the current management of the team under Claudio Ranieri: “It seems to me that Ranieri is managing the situation very well and he is someone who knows the place.”

“I am sure he will know how to handle this situation. We’ll see what he decides to do.”
