That’s the transfer window finally shut for another few months and we can finally concentrate on the football, starting with the small matter of a Glasgow derby tomorrow afternoon.

We left our business a bit late, but got there in the end signing three players on the last day. Arne Engles, Auston Trusty and Luke McCowan all signed before the deadline last night.

They joined Kasper Schmeichel, Viljami Sinisalo, Paulo Bernardo, Adam Idah, and Alex Valle in signing for the club during the summer window.

Matt O’Riley leaving was the only negative, but the fee we received for him allowed us to splash some serious cash, even breaking our transfer record on the highly rated Arne Engels, and a cool reported £9.5 million on Adam Idah.

We’ve also done something we’ve been guilty of neglecting in previous windows, and that’s signed players who are first team ready. Players who will go straight into the starting XI or who are capable of contributing whenever they are asked.

We also managed to shift a lot of players who were seen surplus to requirements and trimmed the squad, something Brendan was very keen on.

We could have done with another winger, but all in all you’ve got to say it’s been a pretty successful window.
