Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu was unable to continue past half-time in the 0-0 draw between Türkiye and Wales in the Nations League on Saturday night, as the Nerazzurri midfielder appeared to still be struggling with his recent thigh injury.
The 30-year-old led Türkiye out as captain at the Kadir Has Stadium in Kayseri, but was substituted at half-time by Vincenzo Montella.
Calhanoglu recently missed a run of games for Inter, including the 4-4 thriller against Juventus, after picking up an injury to the adductor muscle in his thigh early on in the 1-0 victory away against Roma.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri midfielder felt the same discomfort as he made his way down the tunnel at the interval against Wales on Saturday night.
Türkiye have another game away against Montenegro on Tuesday evening, but it remains to be seen whether Calhanoglu will remain with the group or head back to base in Milan.
Inter will play away against Hellas Verona immediately after the international break, before a visit from RB Leipzig in the Champions League and then a trip to play Fiorentina in Serie A the following weekend.
