The coming summer transfer window is set to be a massive one for Real Madrid. Stars like Luka Modric appear to be on their way out, making way for the new generation with younger names like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen set to arrive as fresh faces.
The change in management, needless to say, also brings a variation in terms of players’ prominence at the club. One such star who appears set to see a decline in importance is Rodrygo Goes.
The Brazilian sensation has been a mainstay for Los Blancos under Carlo Ancelotti but is not expected to hold his place in the starting lineup under Xabi Alonso. A departure, shockingly, is not ruled out.
As relayed in a report by Sky Sports, Real Madrid possibly have a deeper agenda on the cards in the form of Rodrygo’s sale.

The youngster, after all, is one of the club’s most saleable assets and will rake in cash for the Merengues to bring in a more important target. The German outlet states that the target in mind is none other than Florian Wirtz.
Should Rodrygo leave this summer amidst interest from the Premier League, Real Madrid may well go all out for the 22-year-old Bayer Leverkusen star.
Wirtz has been sensational for the Bundesliga side so far this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists in the league alone. His playmaking ability, needless to say, is seen as an area that Los Blancos direly need reinforcement in especially after the departure of Toni Kroos.
Given the arrival of Alonso and the manager’s history of working with the talented midfielder, moreover, the dream of signing Wirtz is now more real than ever before for Real Madrid.
