Patrick Dorgu impresses

The whole team played well in a strong effort from United but there were a couple of youngsters who caught the eye.

Patrick Dorgu continued his rise this summer with yet another outstanding performance for the Reds.

He provided the opening goal for Rasmus Hojlund with a great right-footed cross and then his big moment came.

The Dane broke through the Cherries’ defence and slotted home a one-on-one effort to grab his first goal for the team.

His captain Bruno Fernandes was delighted with his performance and took to Instagram (via The Manchester Evening News) to praise the 20-year-old.

He wrote, “what a game, beast” and then the clapping emoji under a picture of Dorgu celebrating his goal.

Ethan Williams praise

Dorgu was not the only youngster in United’s young squad to make a mark.

After spending the second half of last season on loan at Cheltenham Town, Ethan Williams was given the chance to impress on tour in the United States of America.

He took his chance moments after coming on by scoring the Red Devils’ fourth of the night.

Williams expertly cut in after picking up Diego Leon’s pass and fired past the Bournemouth keeper into the bottom right hand corner of the goal.

Fernandes once again took to Instagram to express his approval.

He commented, “Well done Kid” under an image of the 19-year-old celebrating his strike.

Both youngsters will hope to continue to catch Amorim’s eye on Sunday night against Everton, in the last match of the tour.
