Julio Enciso (21) is nearing a move to Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg Alsace, according to a report from The Athletic.
Strasbourg discussed a move for the Paraguay international earlier this year, however, he ultimately joined Ipswich Town on loan. His two goals and three assists in 13 Premier League matches were not enough to keep the club in the top flight, and he has since returned to parent club, Brighton.
The Athletic now understands that a deal has been struck that will see Enciso join BlueCo. Personal terms have already been agreed, and a deal between the clubs has been reached.
In the long term, the Paraguay international, currently sidelined with an injury, is viewed as a Chelsea player. However, it is expected that he will initially spend time at Chelsea’s partner club, Strasbourg. It means that Le Racing will make the signing, should that be the case. With three Chelsea players (Mike Penders, Kendry Paez, and Mamadou Sarr) already on loan at RCSA this season, no more players can be sent there on a loan basis this year.
