Brentford will listen to offers for Bryan Mbeumo this summer, manager Thomas Frank has confirmed.
Mbeumo is enjoying the best goalscoring season of his career and needs just two more goals to hit the 20-goal mark in the Premier League for the first time.
Standard Sport revealed last month that the Bees expect to receive offers for both Mbemo and fellow forward Yoane Wissa once the season ends.
Wissa has 16 Premier League goals this season and was the subject of a £22million offer from Nottingham Forest in January. Tottenham have also been linked with the striker, while Mbeumo is of interest to Newcastle and reportedly has admirers at Arsenal.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Frank said: “If the right price — and that’s going to be expensive — is coming, then I’m sure the club will be open to [selling Mbeumo].
“But I’m very happy he is here, and I’m convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here.”
Mbeumo and Wissa are out of contract in the summer of 2026, though Brentford retain the option to trigger one-year extensions for both.
Asked how difficult it would be to replace the duo, Frank replied: “I lost Neal Maupay, Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney as three key strikers that were 25 goals-plus. Every season we replace the goals with other players, so I am confident that we can do it again.
“We are a selling club, like more or less any other club in the world except the top ten biggest clubs,” Frank said.
Cameroon international Mbeumo joined Brentford from Troyes in France in 2019, while DR Congo’s Wissa signed for the Bees from Lorient in 2021. The pair cost a combined £14.3m in transfer fees.
Brentford, who visit Forest on Thursday night, are succession-planning in case they lose either player, and have one of the largest scouting databases of any English club.
