Brentford held its third fan advisory board (FAB) meeting of the season earlier this month.

FAB meetings are a part of the club’s ongoing commitment to fan engagement and consultation and are a key element of the Premier League’s fan engagement standard.

The meeting was attended by club executives together with FAB members drawn from Bees United and Brentford Independent Association of Supporters (BIAS).

The full list of FAB members includes: Stuart Hatcher (co-chair), Don Tanswell, Chris Tate and Sharon Wright (all from Bees United) and Angelo Basu (co-chair), Dave Minckley, Matthew White and Allyson Woyak (all from BIAS).

The FAB’s primary role is to ensure that fans have a structured, meaningful voice in the strategic decision-making processes at the club, helping to foster a stronger connection between supporters and the club.

In the recent FAB meeting, the group reviewed actions being taken by the club to address the issue of away fans in home areas, including work undertaken before the game, processes followed at the game and actions/sanctions taken after the game has taken place.

The members also acknowledged the positive initiatives implemented so far this season such as the Gen10 campaign to cap junior away ticket prices to £10; £5 coach ticket prices to Newcastle and Aston Villa and the introduction of sales by a seat map for all away fixtures, including an expanded ‘family friendly’ area and a new ‘singing section’.

Other matters discussed included club communications around on-sale dates and sales and the club’s 2025/26 season ticket renewal strategy.

On season ticket renewals, issues such as the price freeze and Every Seat Counts policy were discussed as well as the family area consultation and the proposed move towards digital season tickets.

An update on the club’s working groups was also provided to FAB members.

The club recently met with Angelo Basu who took over the BIAS FAB co-chair position from Adam Hobbs a few months ago.

Angelo talked about his key focus areas in his role as FAB co-chair and how he became a Brentford fan.
