Bournemouth vs Wolves: Preview, predictions and lineups

Bournemouth are aiming to continue their exceptional form and pour more misery on struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers this Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries have enjoyed a phenomenal campaign to date and are in contention for Champions League qualification. They have lost just once in all competitions since late November and have risen to fifth in the Premier League table. Andoni Iraola's charges can even leapfrog reigning champions Manchester City with victory this weekend.

Bournemouth's form stands in stark contrast to Wolves', with the Old Gold sitting near the foot of the table. After an initial new manager bounce under Vitor Pereira, they have struggled to maintain any consistency and have lost five of their last six Premier League outings. A trip to the south coast will prove an immense challenge.

Here is 90min's guide to the clash.

Bournemouth's extensive injury woes have eased slightly in recent weeks but they are still without six players for the visit of Wolves.

Evanilson and Enes Unal are missing in attack, meaning Dango Ouattara will continue in the number nine function. Marcus Tavernier could come into the forward unit after his goal from the bench last weekend and replace David Brooks.

The Cherries' other absentees are in defence, with Julian Araujo, Adam Smith and likely James Hill missing at right-back. Marcos Senesi is still absent in defence but the impressive form of summer recruit Dean Huijsen has helped Bournemouth fill the void.

Luis Sinisterra and Alex Scott both made their long-awaited injury returns last time out, while winter signing Julio Soler could feature in the squad after returning from the Under-20 South American Championship.

Bournemouth predicted lineup vs Wolves (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Cook, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Christie, Adams; Tavernier, Kluivert, Semenyo; Ouattara.

Wolves are without a host of key first-teamers, with Emmanuel Agbadou and Rodrigo Gomes having added their name to an already lengthy injury list. Despite missing last weekend's loss at Anfield, back-up goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is available once again.

Hwang Hee-chan, Sasa Kaljdzic, Leon Chiwome and Enzo Gonzalez are all injured in the forward line, leaving Wolves light in the final third. Yerson Mosquera is also out in defence.

Jorgen Strand Larsen has returned to training this week and is edging closer to a comeback, although he's not necessarily able to face Bournemouth.

Wolves will continue to rely on the genius of talisman Matheus Cunha, who scored an excellent goal against Liverpool last weekend. He needs help from fellow forwards Pablo Sarabia and Goncalo Guedes.

Wolves predicted lineup vs Bournemouth (3-4-2-1): Sa; Doherty, S. Bueno, Toti; Lima, Andre, J. Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Sarabia, Guedes, Cunha.

Bournemouth vs Wolves score prediction

Form and league position dictate that this should be a relatively comfortable victory for Bournemouth, who are flying in the Premier League and even welcoming some fringe players back from injury. They are in relentless goalscoring form and will be keen to punish one of the division's leakiest defences.

Wolves are capable of springing a surprise with their individual quality - especially the influential Cunha - but they're unlikely to overpower the confident Cherries. They will be praying for a draw at the Vitality but will likely have to accept defeat.
