Bournemouth signed off their Premier League campaign with a win over already-relegated Leicester, thanks to a second-half brace from Antoine Semenyo.
The breakthrough came in the 75th minute when Semenyo tapped in from close range after Illia Zabarnyi nodded a corner back across the box. He then doubled his tally with a sharp finish from the edge of the area, drilling the ball in at the near post to wrap up the points for the Cherries.
Those two goals took Semenyo’s total to 11 in the league this season, making him just the fourth Ghanaian to hit double figures in a Premier League campaign, following in the footsteps of Tony Yeboah (12 in 1994/95 and 1995/96), Asamoah Gyan (10 in 2010/11), and André Ayew (12 in 2015/16).
It also marked a milestone for Bournemouth, who for the first time ever had three players reach 10 or more Premier League goals in a single season. Alongside Semenyo’s 11, Justin Kluivert chipped in with 12 and Evanilson added 10.
The trio played a big part in helping the Cherries break their club record for most goals in a Premier League season - their 58-goal tally topping the 56 they managed back in 2018/19.
Andoni Iraola’s side also became just the fourth team this season to have three players score 10 or more goals in the league, joining Brentford, Liverpool and Brighton in that select group.
