Bournemouth have submitted an opening offer for Djordje Petrovic (h/t journalist Fabrizio Romano).
Manager Andoni Iraola guided the club to a ninth-place finish in the Premier League last season. He is now working to improve his squad this summer.
Iraola is looking to address the goalkeeping position after loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga left the club. Petrovic has been identified as a candidate to take over the role.
He spent last season on loan at Strasbourg from Chelsea, where he kept ten clean sheets and helped them finish seventh in Ligue 1.
Bournemouth are hopeful of securing an agreement with Strasbourg in the coming days.
Petrovic is open to the move. He believes joining Bournemouth would be a good career move.
Newly promoted Sunderland were linked with Petrovic, but there is no progress on that front.
With pre-season approaching, Bournemouth want to have their main signings in place before the start of the campaign.
Petrovic is a reliable figure who can bring stability and competition to the goalkeeping department.
He is renowned for his sharp reflexes, quick reactions and strong command in the air. Petrovic is also skilled at stopping long-range efforts and penalties.
His style has drawn comparisons to Thibaut Courtois, with his ability to read the game and respond swiftly making him a complete goalkeeper.
He would add depth to Iraola’s squad and be part of the growing project being built at the south coast club.
