Bournemouth send new offer to Lille for Bafodé Diakité | OneFootball

According to a report from Marc Mechenoua, Paris Saint-Germain are close to reaching an agreement with AFC Bournemouth for Illia Zabarnyi (22), which has seen the Premier League side resume discussions with Lille OSC for the centre-back’s replacement.

Bournemouth have been targeting a move for Lille’s Bafodé Diakité (24) as they prepare for a future without the Ukrainian defender. The club have previously baulked at Lille’s asking price, which is estimated to be around €35-40m as per Fabrice Hawkins. However, Mechenoua now writes that Bournemouth have sent an offer which is far closer to Lille’s asking price.

Diakité has been a crucial part of this Lille squad and was their most-used outfield player, missing only three games, and making 48 appearances across all competitions. The centre-back had filled the void left by Leny Yoro (19), helping the club towards a Last 16 finish in the UEFA Champions League.
