As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport and confirmed by L’Équipe, Rowe is being monitored closely by Serie A side Atalanta, who see the OM forward as a good fit for new coach Ivan Jurić’s system. There is competition, however. Premier League sides Bournemouth and Leeds United have both expressed interest in Rowe, offering the possibility of a return to English football where he made a name for himself in the ChampionshipAtalanta are in the market for a direct and explosive wide player to potentially replace Lookman, who remains in talks over a move to Inter Milan. With over €100m in sales already lined up – thanks in part to the departure of Mateo Retegui – Atalanta are well-positioned financially to act swiftly on this front.Rowe joined Marseille from Norwich City last summer for a fee of around €15m, and though he was only sparingly used by Roberto De Zerbi during his debut season in Ligue 1 (3 goals and 3 assists in 28 appearances), the England U21 international still holds a strong market value. OM are reportedly hoping to recoup around €20m should they choose to cash in, after paying €16m to make his move to the Provence region permanent. Rowe could suffer next season, along with Neal Maupay, for game time with the imminent arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (36) and Feyenoord winger Igor Paixão (25). L’Équipe report that Rowe looks to be in the starting XI for August, before playing second fiddle to the new Brazilian signing once he is up to speed.Rowe’s stock remains high, not least due to an eye-catching goal at the U21 Euros and a strong pre-season, capped by a well-taken equaliser against Valencia earlier this week.GFFN | George Boxall
