Scorers: Füllkrug 36′

After a scintillating draw between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in Tuesday’s semi-final, a cracking atmosphere in Dortmund had left Wednesday’s clash finely poised.

It was a high-energy start from the hosts, as they looked to get on the ball and take control of the tempo in the opening five minutes.

The first chance of the night fell to Ousmane Dembélé, but the former Dortmund man sent his fizzing effort just wide of the post.

It went right back the other way however, as Marcel Sabitzer had a big chance of his own. The tempo was raising as the half wore on.

The deadlock was finally broken when Niclas Füllkrug was played in behind before firing home past Gianluigi Donnarumma in the PSG net.

The hosts nearly found a second before the break when Sabitzer hit a ferocious volley from point-blank range, but Donnarumma was quick to get down and block the driven shot.

PSG responded well after the break and nearly found the leveller, but Kylian Mbappé and Achraf Hakimi both saw their shots ring the post in a matter of seconds.

The game exploded into life in the following minutes, as both sides traded chances and the tackles were ramped up.

Luck did not appear to be on the side of the Parisians. A superb team move looked all but set to be capped off by Ousmane Dembélé from just around the penalty-spot, but the winger sent his effort just over the bar.

The scoreline will read 1-0 in as the two teams head to Paris for the second-leg, but the 90 minutes in Dortmund could have provided us with five more goals with ease.
