Sport Bild has outlined the situation for each one of Borussia Dortmund’s summer window targets as the start of the Bundesliga fast approaches.

Dortmund are still trying to sign Wolves striker Fabio Silva and have reached an agreement with the Portuguese striker, but they face competition from RB Leipzig.

With the recent injury to Niklas Süle, they could also now attempt to sign a centre-back.

Borussia Dortmund’s midfield problem:

One area that Dortmund has been trying to improve is the attacking midfield and overall midfield position this summer. So far, they have signed Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland, but that is not enough. They could still sign two more players for the position.

The two names that Dortmund have been strongly linked with are Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte and Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka.

Dortmund wish to sign both players initially on loan. The Argentine is a top target for die Schwarzgelben, and they are looking to secure a €25m purchase option as well. However, Bayer Leverkusen have come in and shown interest in the 20-year-old, with the price quoted at €45m for a permanent move this summer.

Chukwuemeka also wants to return to the club after spending the second half of last season on loan at the club. Dortmund also want a loan with a purchase option in the deal. The 21-year-old has also told Chelsea that he is unhappy with the way they treat players and no longer wants to play for the club.

Finally, Jadon Sancho has been linked with another return to the club. There are doubts in the management about signing the 25-year-old for a third time, but there is support within the squad for Sancho’s signing, with the belief that he can be a difference maker.
